Right fielder Jack Leonard had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Cereal Exchange as the Postopia Crispy Critters, running on all cylinders, ripped the Post Cereal 49ers by a large 12 to 2 margin. Postopia wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring one runner using 2 hits. Postopia banged out 11 on the night. Benji Wolf(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Inspector Post(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

First baseman Huckleberry Hound smacked 2 homeruns at Cereal Yards where the Battle Creek Bowlers beat the Cerealtown Sugarcanes 7 to 3. Hound made sure the Battle Creek fans enjoyed themselves. He delivered a solo blast in the 4th inning and brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer (his 2nd of the season) in the 7th inning. Cerealtown was out-hit by Battle Creek, 9 hits to 6.  Lee Campione(1-0) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Rootin Tootin(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. She pitched 2/3 of an inning and surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk.

In a game for the baseball purist, Big Bum Moonstone(1-0) and Cookie Krook(0-1) squared off in a tense pitching duel, Ralston Cereal Checkerboards finally emerged victorious over Ralston Chex, 3 to 1. Ralston Cereal jumped on top of Ralston in the top of the 6th inning scoring one runner using 2 hits. Ralston Cereal had just 5 hits for the night. Boss Moss Freakie was credited with his 1st save.

The Madison Street Instant Icons defeated the Post Toasties by a score of 6 to 2 at Post Toastie Park. Madison Street took the lead for keeps in the 6th inning scoring a single run on 2 hits. For the game Madison Street out-hit Post 14 to 7.  Hush Puppy Hound(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. California Raisin got the save, his 1st. Dino Flintstone(0-1) was charged with the loss.

In a good matchup it was the Nestle EuroQuiks 3, the Gotham City Expos 1 at Nestle Stadium.Nestle scored 2 runs in the 7th inning when they had 3 base hits. They ended up being the winning runs. The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  Le Requin Kix(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Kix was helped out by Plum Loco Louie who recorded his 1st save. Mister Salty Pretzel(0-1) ended up with the loss.

Shortstop Elisabeth Crunch had 2 base hits as the Quaker Crunch Captains defeated the Quaker Oats Cereal Stars by the score of 2 to 1 at Quaker Memorial. The game was won by Quaker with a run in the 9th inning. Jean La Foote ripping a solo home run (his 1st of the season). Both teams totaled 6 on the afternoon.  The winning pitcher was King Vitamin(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Tugboat Granny recorded his 1st save. The loss was charged to Life Protein Two Jr(0-1) in relief.

45,026 fans were treated to a fine game at General Mills Park as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The General Mills Wheathuskers won by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4. The score was tied at 3 after nine. Finally, General Mills pulled the game out in the 10th inning. Wendell Baker opened up the inning nicely when he laced a single. Cheerio Kid was next and he drew a walk. Honey Drop then banged out a single scoring a run. Googul Alien was up next and he slapped a one-base hit resulting in an exciting win for General Mills and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times. The victory was credited to Kixie Kixx(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run. Thorndike Donkey Jr.(0-1) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk without retiring a batter.

At Cereal City Grounds the Cereal City Oathuskers outscored the Kelloggs Frosted Flakers 4 to 1. Pronto Banana(1-0) did the job in relief, and he got credit for the win. He went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 hit and 2 walks. Cereal City rapped out 7 hits for the night. Banana got help from Ogg Caveman, Jr. who was credited with his 1st save. Kay Rex(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 3 runs in 2 innings.
