a mediocre 15-14 run over the last month, Gettysburg has
increased its lead in the division to 6 games. Led by Rogers
Hornsby (82 for 299 - .274; 7 HRs; 46
RBIs; 29 Runs, 7 SBs), Bengie Molina (91 for 338- .269; 4 HRs;

RBIs; 28 Runs; 29 for 82 - .354 for the month), Bill
White (75 for 283 - .265; 4 HRs;

HRs), the Minutemen seemed primed to take the division
with only 30 games left! On the hill, their pitching has been
outstanding as Pete Alexander (16-6; 1.87 ERA) has been nearly
un-hittable although has settled in a bit of late losing
3 of 4 decisions. Noodles Hahn (18-11; 3.30 ERA) , has
paced the staff in wins and Derrick Turnbow
has saved 26 games with a 1.14 ERA. Gettysburg has kept
their pitching together with smoke and mirrors while
being in the bottom portion of the league standings for
ERA. At
9-15 over the last 24, Sussex has damaged their
chances at the division, but remain in contention for
the wildcard. The Senators have
been paced by Shanty Hogan (104 for 325 - .320; 6 HRs; 36 RBIs;

Runs;), Johnny Frederick (106
for 357 - .310;
8 HRs; 39 RBIs; 43 Runs) and Lou Gehrig (109

the division) drew closer to the pack after turning over
their roster via trades...which has seemed to pay off. |

After a wretched 9-20 month, Whitehorse
now has the rest of the pack nipping at their heals. The
Wolfpack has been led by Sam Rice (185 for 535- .346; 1 HRs;
42 RBIs; 76 Runs

Manny
Ramirez continues his struggles at the plate with a .224

saves.
At
16-11, New Foundland leapt over 2 teams and are just 2
games out of first!
The
Hillcats boast 3 front-line pitchers with double digit
victories in Lee Meadows (11-10 3.52
ERA) D Ruether (11-13 3.55
ERA) and Ken Holtzman (12-11 3.57
ERA).
Nunavut at
13-14 has been able to play competitive over the
duration. The Condors
at 3 1/2 games out have been paced by Al Simmons (103 for

HRs; 56 RBIs; 49 Runs) on offence.

a run desparately. The Lumberjacks offense has been

At
18-10, the
BayBears from Towson stand alone in first place
and increased their lead over the last 28 games to a
full 7 1/2 games! Willie

SBs) and rookie of the year candidate Aaron Campione
(132 for
469 - .281; 27 HRs; 75 RBIs; 85 Runs) have paced the
offense. Towson boasts 4
10-game winners in Roger
Clemens (13-4; 1.96 ERA), Tom Seaver (16-6; 2.71 ERA -
5-1 over the month), Aaron Heilman (10-4; 2.03 ERA) and
new addition Sandy Koufax (11-8; 2.10 ERA). At
13-20, West Virginia lost significant ground in
the standings. The Cougars have been
paced by Hippo Vaughn
(12-11; 2.77 ERA) and Carl Hubell (12-7; 3.61 ERA) on the
hill. Offensively, Marty McManus
(115 for 393 - .293; 12 HRs; 41 RBIs, 59 Runs) and Babe Ruth (114 for

After losing the division lead earlier this summer, Quebec
reeled off a 21 -10 month to reclaim first place! The Nordiques have been paced by Al Orth who has done a
fine job on the hill
(15-7; 2.63 ERA; 1 Save) and Mickey Lolich (8-11; 2.75
ERA; 4 Saves) who has pitched well despite his losing
record. Utilitymen Eddie Murphy (51 for 116- .440) and
Frank Cross (43 for 100- .430) have been clutch with
stalwart

Sheckard
(150-483 .311; 5 HRs; 48 RBIs; 76 Runs; 21 SBs) leading
the way on offense.
At
14-15 Calgary coughed up the lead but are in the thick
of things.
Led
by Randy Jones (18-8; 2.53 ERA) and Dick Radatz
(1-2; 2.06 ERA; 23 Saves) the Oil Barons intend on
reclaiming the lead with only a 1 1/2 game separation.

2.97! Nunavut at 7-3 has begun to make some noise but
must demonstrate more consistency. This is the first
time the Condors have made the headlines after leaping
over Yellowknife. Al Simmons (72 for 225 - .320; 15 HRs;
39 RBIs; 45 Runs) has been on a tear along with Ben
Chapman (52 for 184 - .283; 3 HRs; 26 RBIs; 20 Runs).

had the best month in the division logging in at 18-10

and 7 saves respectively. On offense, Jimmy Foxx (63 for

Whitehorse who at 17-11 for the month padded their lead in the division to
9 games! The Wolfpack
has been led by Sam Rice (116 for 363 - .320; 1 HRs; 26
RBIs; 51 Runs) and Freddie Lynn (94 for 326 - .288; 6
HRs; 35 RBIs; 21 SHs). Manny Ramirez has struggled
at the plate but has still managed to provide pop with
18 homers. Bob Bruce leads staff relievers with a
minuscule 2.09 ERA while 4 other relievers have boasted ERAs below 2.50. Al McBean has been un-hittable in the
closer role with 16 saves. At 11-16 Yellowknife has
fallen hard in the standings but still able to hold a
sturdy lead on 2nd place. The Lumberjacks
offense has been paced by Goose Goslin (7 for 58 over
the month) who has struggled while battling a sore wrist. Ted Simmons (87
for 282 - .301;
4 HRs; 36 RBIs; 23 Runs) has been on a tear and
increased his batting average 13 points while Whitey Ford (10-5; 2.32)
has been stingy on the mound and has been victimized by
several no decisions after leaving with a lead. Of the
remaining teams in the division, only Prince Edward
Island has played consistent enough to move up the

O'Doul

provided the offense while Hodd Eller (11-6;
3.28 ERA) and Hank Thormahlen (8-2; 2.59 ERA) lead the staff in wins. Calgary
has sported a 16-11 record which was the best in the
division for the month and it enabled them to draw
within 1 game of the lead! The Oil Barons have
been paced by Randy Jones (12-6; 2.69 ERA) and Dick Radatz
(1-1; 2.39 ERA; 14 Saves). Quebec has lost 22 of 36
while losing the division lead in the process.
The Nordiques have been paced by the offense of Gabby
Hartnett (72 for 226 - .319; 20 HRs; 40 RBIs) and Jimmy Sheckard
(95 for 311 - .305; 4 HRs; 29 RBIs). Al Orth has done a
fine job on the hill
